Travel Nurse ChecklistWe need to make sure we find out all we can before we’re on the road. Before we sign that contract, pack our bags, and wave good-bye to friends and co-workers, we need to ask a lot of questions. I mean, who wants to put their license in jeopardy, or get stuck in a crappy situation with incompetent or no help?

My next three posts will include a series of checklists that some of you might find helpful to utilize before taking on a new assignment. I recommend printing this (about checklists) out so you can have them in hand before you call or interview with your potential nurse staffing agencies and facilities.

Demand for Nurse Staffing Agency as U.S. Contingent Staffing Trends Up

With recent Labor Department reports of an increase in temporary-help services employment to about 2.3 million in March 2011 from a recent low of about 1.7 million in mid-2009, nurse staffing agency, FlexRN, reports similarly strong demand for its agency nurses in hospital and urgent care settings.

Temporary workers are often called upon to offer the flexibility companies need — especially in times of economic uncertainty or growth. Contingent workers also allow companies to tap specialized skills, avoid payroll taxes, and adjust staffing levels on an as-needed basis.
